New Year, Slow Start

Well, that’s the festivities all over bar the shouting, with the decorations and lights due to come down by the end of the week and the world returning to normal again. I have had a quiet time with the family and have spent a fair bit of the time painting figures for my fantasy project (see my other blog) which I find very relaxing, as watching too much Christmas television drives me round the bend.

I will be ready to roll with the Minden stuff again by the end of the week and have a small order waiting, which a new buyer decided to send to me on 1st January.

On the new figures front, I am afraid that unlike last year, when I took my break, I have absolutely nothing whatsoever to report, as there is nothing new started yet.

Richard informed me that he thought he would be finished with the work he was doing for another client by the end of December and available to make a start on new stuff for me over this period, but I’m afraid nothing has materialised as yet. I said I wouldn’t keep ringing up asking if he was free and we agreed that he would get in touch with me when he was ready to go, but so far I haven’t heard from him.

I do know that the problems he and his good lady were having with their old folks were becoming increasingly demanding, to the point of being relentless and driving them both to distraction, which meant that he just didn’t have time to sculpt, or for that matter do anything else, other than tend to his family.

While we all want to see new figures, sometimes we just have to accept that we have to be patient when real life kicks in to spoil the best laid plans and we just can’t have what we want.

So with this in mind, I can make no promises about when there will be new figures in the range, as I will definitely not be putting any more pressure on Richard than he already has. I have told him that when he is free and able to work, I will be waiting.

Happy New Year to one and all.

Frank

Glad you had a good break.

I'm starting my 2013 painting season with some of your figures (Prussian dragoons, and the lovely mounted civilians).

That's too bad for Richard. I know where he's coming from.

My sympathies to hin!

Happy New Year also to all interested folks.

Clear especially to Frank and Richard. I am able to understand Richard, because i know similar family problems in my past.
One aspect clear, the man with the ideas is the foundation, but the other fellow who is able to convert those ideas also essential.
I hope for all of us Frank and Richard will realise all they and we want.

Best wishes and regards,
Rüdiger
